The newest trend today in its treatment pilonidal sinus are the flexible lasers where they easily enter the cyst cavity and fistulas without the need for large incisions. Thus, after the operation, there is no need for painful daily changes as there is no cavity or trauma as with classic operations.
The method FiLaC as it is called internationally, it is done using the latest generation laser probe. Using the very thin and flexible laser probe, we cauterize the cyst cavity and the fistulas. The method is similar to that used in perianal fistulas.
The operation can be done even with local anesthesia, lasts 15-30 minutes and does not require hospitalization. It is painless and allows an immediate return to our everyday life. It can be applied to the majority of pilonidal sinus / cyst cases with perhaps few exceptions.
